Abstract

Professor Klippies Kritzinger, as Dean of the erstwhile faculty of Theology and Religious Studies, was willing to take a risk and allow a new, rather esoteric discipline to come into being in the new millennium. Christian Spirituality was thus born at Unisa in 2000, not without certain reservations from some faculty members. As a tribute to Klippies, some salient issues with respect to teaching Spirituality are discussed in this article, in particular the area of It has also become clear that Missiology and Spirituality are not just sister disciplines in the department, but need each other as partners in order to effect individual and societal transformation.
