Abstract

We have very little accurate knowledge of our nearest neighbour among the major planets. We know accurately the mathematical facts of its orbital motion, we know its volume, near enough for all practical purposes, and there is a general agreement among astronomers that Venus is surrounded by some kind of an atmosphere.
