Abstract

"Infection prevention and control (IPC) reflects the standard and quality of care afforded to all patients at any health care facility". This statement carries noble sentiments but little practice of quality health care service delivery. There are several misconceptions surrounding IPC which one hopes are cleared with this editorial. IPC practice is covered by the Occupational Health and Work Act, the Health and Safety at Work Act and the Public Health Act. For the patient, the principles of should be followed.
