Abstract

Indigestion (dyspepsia) is a common problem. It is often self-diagnosed by patients who use the term to include anything from pain in the chest and upper abdomen to lower abdominal symptoms. Therefore, it is important to question the patient to ensure that they have correctly identified their symptoms or whether referral to the doctor is indicated.
