Extracted from text ... 14 - ESSA MARCH / APRIL 2006 The first I had ever heard of or seen the group known as 'volunteer ministers' was when I responded to the major fire on Table Mountain. What was impressive about this group was the logistical support run from their yellow tent in the holding area. Never in the history of the fire department has an organisation, however well resourced, ever made such a positive impact on a major incident. With their bright yellow T-shirts and jackets, the volunteers herded the exhausted fire-fighters to meals and well-deserved breaks, even to an 'assist table' ..
