The project is located some 55 km west-southwest of Kimberley in the Northern Cape Province of South Africa. The property is host to six Group II kimberlites, some of which were in the past the targets of intermittent exploration and exploitation from the early 20th century until 1957. The primary target of recent exploration is the PK1 kimberlite pipe and, to a lesser degree the PK3 kimberlite. Within the licence are several other targets, namely the proven kimberlites (PK) PK2, PK4, and PK5, as well as prospective anomalies (PA) PA6, PA7, and PA8. PK1, 2 and 3 are known to be diamondiferous, and PK5, previously known as Rooipan Mine, has yielded very encouraging results. Bulk sampling of PK1 and PK5 has determined the economic viability of the project.
