Abstract

Hudson (1996) considered that a management system should include :

  1. mitigation
  2. readiness
  3. readiness response
  4. recovery.
Hudson's approach, adopted by many Fortune 500 companies, suggests that the plan to deal with the actual emergency or incident should only be one part of an emergency or contingency philosophy within an organisation.
