Abstract

Across the continent, local governments and other utilities are having to come up with fast mitigation plans to sustain citizens through the drought. Better use and maintenance of existing dams and reservoirs and the deployment of water tankers feature largely in these plans. Meanwhile, analysts are concerned about how climate change will further affect the situation.
