Abstract

The project aims to experiment and prove Bernoulli's principle by creating a water-based model that demonstrates pressure and its effects in fluid mechanics. According to the law of physics, Bernoulli's Principle states that as the speed of a moving fluid (liquid or gas) increases, the pressure within that fluid decreases. It further states that the total energy in a steadily flowing fluid system is constant along the flow path. It can be shown that as a consequence, an increase in the speed of the fluid must be matched by a decrease in its pressure. We predict that Bernoulli was correct in creating his principle, and we wish to prove it by means of our experiments with water that flows through a working model.
