Abstract

Rail traffic on the Great Red Island is in for a turnaround. It had almost fallen into disuse to the extent that a market had sprung up on a section of tracks in the capital, Antananarivo, and tracks had been stolen from the line to Antsirabe. Now, a US$37,5 million investment plan has been put in place.
