Abstract

The Maputo Corridor's Joint Operating Centre (JOC) has been operational since May 2013 and houses representatives from Transnet, Caminhos de Ferro de Moçambique (CFM), the Maputo Port Development Corporation (MPDC), and Swaziland Railway (SR). The private sector is also involved, with Grindrod having an operator's table. More private sector participation is expected as growth in the port's terminals increases. These operators prioritise integrating the planning and execution of cargo train operations between South Africa, Mozambique, and Swaziland.
