This vast vessel sails seven months of the year to protect South Africa's fishing stock from being plundered by poachers, yet needs only 40 hands, thanks to advanced controlling telemetry designed by local firm, Spectrum Communications. Named after the first woman to be elected into the National Executive of the African National Congress, the Lilian Ngoyi cost close to R70-million to be built, using more than 50% locally sourced construction material and 200 000 hours ..
