Boeing estimates that world air traffic, measured in revenue passenger-kilometres (RPKs), will grow by 5.2% over this period and expects that air traffic in Africa will experience growth just above the world average at 5.3%. Boeing further estimates that 544 new passenger aircraft will have to be delivered to Africa by 2023 at a value of $US38.5-billion (about R231-billion).
